Machine of Death anthology cover art revealed

And wow!  It’s a beauty!

From the MoD site:  “After a long year of excitement, disappointment, renewed excitement, continued disappointment, thickheadedness, obstinacy and relief, we are pleased to announce that Machine of Death will be officially released this October by Bearstache Books, the boutique printing arm of Wondermark Enterprises.

My story for this one, “Flaming Marshmallow and Other Deaths,” was the first short story I ever wrote.  You might have heard it on Escape Pod, or read it in PUSH OF THE SKY

“. . . To anyone living outside New Bedlam, a nightmare was a thing which came when one slept.  It rolled across the unconscious mind like a dark shadow, but when a person woke and turned on the light the shadow would dissipate, or it would eventually be chased off with the dawn . . .  But in New Bedlam, when dawn came and lights were turned on, the shadows lingered, scrabbling and clawing at the back of the mind . . . . “
