Packing for tomorrow’s flight to Austin to hang out for ArmadilloCon 2014.  As always, there’ll be some amazing literary talent splashing around in this Texas pool (I know it’s going to be hot, so expect all my metaphors to be infected with dreams of Barton Springs…)

Great for filling up your reading list.  Feeling rather pumped about this one because, you know, I did just read nearly every spec-fic book in Canada (or written by a Canadian anywhere in the world) for the Sunburst Awards.

Required Mystery, Fri 11:00 PM-Midnight: Cupp*, Brust, Crider, Lalumière, Lansdale, Renwick…We aren’t telling you the description.   Chuffed because, hello! Look at that panel lineup. So great. And by midnight I’ll be giddy and slappy and punch drunk.

Come join us in adorable Kent, Washington this July 17-20th for the 2014 Cascade Writers Workshop series. I’ll be giving several talks on putting together short story collections, choosing stories for themed anthologies (as editor and writer), in travails of using pen names (le sigh…), the unsung secret delights of indulging in speculative poetry, and about a zillion other things, including but not limited to WHATEVER YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT.

I’ll be in and around New York City this week, soaking up big city sunshine and doing Fun Stuff in honor of the 2014 Edgar Awards. I’ve also agreed to cover the Book Launch party for the MWA’s Newest Anthology Ice Cold for The Green Man Review / Sleeping Hedgehog. On Tuesday, April 29th, we will be launching our newest anthology, Ice Cold, edited by Jeffery Deaver and Raymond Benson.
